George Washingtons Birthday is one of the most significant birthdays know in the United States of America's History.

George Washing was one of ten children of full and half brothers and sisters. He was born into an aristocratic Virginian family,  who grew tobacco and prepared timber. It is also noted that his family also owned slaves. Washington spent most of his early childhood education homeschooled and at a nearby churchyard school. He also spent time in a boarding school about 30 miles away. He learned about the physical and material world in terms of farming and becoming a gentleman. He also had English and Mathmatics classes.Washington's father died when he was 11 years old and he was bought up by his half brother Lawrence.

Lawrence married Anne Fairfax the daughter of William Fairfax.

When Washington was 16, he met Lord Thomas Fairfax and Englishman who held and owned land in the northern part of the colony. Washington learned to survey land near and around Shenandoah Valley. Through this surveying work he bought plots of land. And by the age of 21 he owned 1500 acres of his own.

The day honors presidents of the United States, including George Washington, the USA's first president. Records show that George Washington's birthday is actually on the February 22.
